Helpful Guides
View all guidesCommon Questions
How accurate is the take-home pay calculator?
It applies the published 2026 federal brackets, standard deduction, Social Security and Medicare rates exactly. It is an estimate rather than a payroll run, because it does not know your Form W-4 adjustments, tax credits, itemised deductions, benefits or bonuses. Every assumption is listed on each calculator page.
Which taxes are included?
Federal income tax, employee Social Security, employee Medicare and Additional Medicare Tax. State income tax is included only where it is verifiably zero. Local, county and city taxes are never included.
Do you store my salary or personal information?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to a CalcSenses server, and there is no account to create.
Which tax year do the calculators use?
Tax year 2026, using IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-32 for the brackets and standard deduction and IRS Topic 751 for Social Security and Medicare. The rule-set version and the date it was last checked appear on every calculator page.
What's the difference between salary and paycheck calculators?
The salary calculator estimates what you owe across a full year. The paycheck calculator models what your employer withholds from one pay period, which follows slightly different rules — most visibly for Additional Medicare Tax.
